A buyer's agent on the Gleason Team, Megan specializes in working with first-time home buyers, as well as gay couples drawn to the city many call the "Berkeley of the East." A former corporate trainer, Megan draws on her extensive knowledge of the local market, research and problem-solving skills, and negotiation expertise to help her clients navigate the purchase process.
"Many new buyers find the process intimidating," says Megan, "so I walk them through the entire process step-by-step. I'll help them find the right lender, assess their purchasing power, and then find the neighborhood and home that meets their special needs. I also believe in attending home inspections and closings, so that my clients have the support they need, when they need it."
As a buyer's agent, Megan has helped buyers substantiate family gifts for down payments, plan for the full range of housing costs, purchase FSBO (for sale by owner) homes, and obtain favorable financing. She has also handled sales with multiple contingencies, bringing purchases to a successful close. While Megan has worked with numerous clients, one of the things she is most proud of was her ability to help an immigrant family prove creditworthiness, obtain a loan, and move from a trailer into their first home. "That was a really good feeling," she says.
A former Long Islander, Megan lives in a West Asheville bungalow.
